Toronto Public Library launching ‘human books’ program

On Nov. 6, Toronto Public Library cardholders will have access to a variety of “human books” that will be available for one-on-one conversations focusing on diversity, unity, tolerance and new, positive ways of thinking.

This is the first time the library has hosted this kind of program and has selected nearly 60 individuals that will be on hand to sit down with cardholders and discuss unique life decisions and experiences.

The Malvern Branch, located on the corner of Sheppard Avenue and Nielson Road, is one of five branches participating in the program.

Cardholders can place holds on their chosen “human books” beginning Oct. 23.
