Sunday night was a statement game for Viktor Stalberg.

Tim Connolly scored twice, including the overtime winner, as the Buffalo Sabres defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Friday night at the HSBC arena.

Jonas Gustavsson’s highly anticipated first NHL start was a losing one, but he showed some calmness in a position where the Toronto Maple Leafs have rarely developed players.
